Premium Fine Point Blade – Maker, Explorer Family, Joy

The Premium Fine Point blade is the blade that comes with all of the Cricut Machines. The blade is German Carbide, which is extremely durable and high-quality material most used for cutting materials. The Premium Fine Point blade has a 45-degree angle and is used for making intricate cuts, and it’s designed to cut medium-weight materials. This blade will work with any of the Cricut Explore Family machines and the Cricut Maker.

Materials that can be used:

  • Printer Paper
  • Vinyl: Glitter vinyl, printable, outdoor, holographic
  • Iron-on or also HTV (Heat transfer vinyl)
  • Cardstock
  • Washi Tape
  • Parchment Paper
  • Vellum
  • Canvas
  • Light Chipboard
  • Faux Leather (Paper Thin)

Deep Point Blade – Maker, Explorer Family

The Deep Point Blade is used to cut thicker materials. The angel of the blade is 60-degrees and allows for a deeper intricates cuts for thicker materials. This blade can be used with any of the Cricut Explore Family machines and Cricut Maker! You must use the housing that it comes with as it is not interchangeable.

Materials that you can cut with the Deep Point Blade:

  • Craft Foam
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Genuine Leather
  • Metallic Leather
  • Magnetic Sheet – 0.6mm
  • Corrugated Paper

Bonded Fabric Blade– Maker, Explorer Family

The Bonded Fabric Blade is similar to the Premium Fine Point Blade, but you can only use it with fabric. Before using this blade, your fabric pieces will need to be bonded to a backing material.

Bonded fabric means that you need a backing to go on the back of fabric. “Backing” is a type of material that you need to adhere/bond to your fabrics.

The Bonded Fabric Blade blade is compatible with the Explore Family Machines and Cricut Maker, the color is pink and can be used with the Pink Fabric Mat.

Foil Transfer Kit– Maker, Explorer Family

The Foil Transfer Kit allows you to projects that include foil effects and has 3 tools in 1; fine, medium, and bold tips.The foil tips only work with Cricut foil transfer sheets, there are a wide variety of colors. Only compatible with the Cricut Maker and any of the Explore family machines

Materials that can be used with the Foil Transfer Kit:

  • Cardstock
  • Deluxe Paper
  • Pearl Paper
  • Vellum
  • Printable Vinyl
  • Printable Sticker Paper
  • Matboard

Rotary Blade– Maker

The Rotary blade was driven by the Adaptive Tool System and is the only reason it only compatible with the Cricut Maker Machine. The Rotary Blade can cut through any fabric and does not require any backing to the fabric. This blade is included with the Cricut Maker and can only be used with the Fabric Grip Mat. The Rotary Blade must be used with its own housing as it is not interchangeable.

Knife blade– Maker

With the knife blade you can cut more and make more projects. You are able to get precise cuts through thicker or denser materials such as balsa wood, leather, craft foam, and more. The knife blade can only be used with the Cricut Maker. The mat you should use if the strong grip purple mat.

 Materials that can be used:

  • Tooling Leather
  • Balsa – 1/16 in & 3/32 in
  • Basswood – 1/16 in & Basswood – 1/32 in
  • Heavy Chipboard – 2.0mm
  • Matboard 4 Ply

QuickSwap Tips and Blades– Maker

The QuickSwap system has five different tools (2 blades, and 3 tips) All can be used with the same housing. These can only be used with the Cricut Maker:

Quick Swap Perforation blade – Maker

This blade allows you to make projects with a tear finish. Here are some materials you can use:

Quick Swap Scoring Wheel tips – Maker

These tips create edges on your materials so that you can fold them. There are two sizes (two different tips) 01, and 02. Tip 01 is used for the lighter materials and tip 02 Double Scoring Wheel Tip is for the heavier materials. Here is a list of materials that you can use:
